New Framework To Speed Up House Building In England Planned
A new framework to speed up house building in England is set to be launched by Homes England, which will be replacing its current framework due to expire in November 2018.
Valued at £150 million, the new framework will broaden the range of technical and multidisciplinary services available to support work to accelerate the delivery of new homes to the British public, Development Finance Today reported.
“This will be the fifth generation of our multidisciplinary framework and our biggest yet, demonstrating Homes England’s expanded role in bringing together land and expertise to speed up the building of new homes,” Stephen Kinsella, Director for Land at Homes England was quoted as saying.
“We want to create strong working relationships with a wider range of companies who can provide valuable technical advice and design expertise to help accelerate housing development, deliver value for money and great places to live.”
The framework will provide Homes England with an OJEU-compliant and efficient means to procure design and technical services. The scheme aims to support the government’s plans to build 300,000 homes a year for the coming years to tackle Britain’s housing shortage.

House building is on the horizon for the UK, as the supply of properties has slowed down, pushing up house prices.
The latest IHS Market/CIPS UK Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index revealed construction activity rebounded in April, due to a boost in residential projects, however Russell Galley, a financial services provider, surmised that house prices are being supported by a lack of properties on the market.
