Britain – A Nation Of Housebuilders
The opportunity to build your own home is one that you should perhaps not pass up and it would seem that an increasing number of people in Britain are keen to make excellent use of rebar suppliers and others in the construction industry to do just that.
According to Confused.com, 27 per cent of people want to build their dream house, with 79 per cent saying this is because they want to have the freedom to design it themselves to their own specifications.
These specifications seem to heavily involve the use of technology in the home – it was seen that 34 per cent want to have more modern tech such as self-flushing toilets, smartphone-controlled appliances, voice-activated lighting, underfloor heating, a home security system and a home cinema system.
“We’re all individuals and it’s understandable that we’d want to reflect this within our homes. Building your own home is the ultimate step towards that goal – whether you prefer a more traditional home or one with every gadget on the market,” head of home insurance at Confused.com Gareth Lane remarked.
If you are interested in starting a self-build project, there is plenty of advice available online to help you get going. The Self Build Guide, for example, has information on a wide range of topics, from buying land and designing a house to mortgages, building costs and warranties, so if you are feeling overwhelmed and need a bit of help why not head there first?
Those in charge of the site are renovators and self-builders themselves so you know that the information they provide will be accurate and helpful.
