What Are The Different Types Of Box Profile Roofing Sheets?

Box profile roofing sheets are among the most robust and long-lasting roofing options. Capable of handling everything the increasingly capricious British climate can throw at them, they are a popular and cost-effective roofing option with many potential uses, from offices and factories to homes, warehouses and agricultural buildings.

However, it would be wrong to think that they are all the same. While the basic structural theme is similar, there are variations in shape, thickness and other design aspects. This can affect which particular roofing sheet product is best for your construction project.

Among these variations are:

·       Single skin sheets, which are lightweight and used for small jobs like garage roofs

·       Insulated sheets. These have multiple sheets with insulation in between to help maintain the temperature inside the building below

·       Composite sheets. These have external layers that sandwich insulation and are used for roof and wall cladding for extra insulation

What Would Different Box Profile Roofing Sheets Be Used For?

The differences are important because each meets a different need. For example, a garage is not a place most people will spend a lot of time in on a cold winter’s day and neither the car nor other items within need to be kept warm.

This may not be the case for a warehouse, depending on what is stored within, while an office or residential building will certainly need insulation.

Your project may also choose between different designs and shapes. Our foreclad roofing comes in three designs, listed as R, RS and RT. However, R is the standard choice and the shape that most will use. The addition of ribs or swages, as seen in the RS and RT designs, can increase the strength of the roofing if it needs greater load-bearing strength.

Whatever your needs, we can provide the exact type of box profile roofing you need, which you can then install with the confidence that it will give you the solid, weather-proof roof that you need for many years to come.
